
"Everything is connected" is the foundation in the practice of yoga. Yoga cultivates a deep awareness of the breath and the connection of breath and the body. The physical and mental health benefits resulting from yoga have long been reported by health professionals. Yoga trains the mind to focus on the present, becoming more aware and mindful in all of our actions. The practice creates slower, deeper breaths which improves lung function and the ability to relax. Related benefits include lowering blood pressure and heart rate, aiding in weight control, improving digestion and boosting the immune system as well as easing the symptoms of conditions such as anxiety, depression, fatigue, asthma, and insomnia.
